Abstract

This paper investigates the role of online learning platforms in promoting environmental education and sustainability practices. With the growing integration of technology in education, e-learning offers a unique opportunity to reach diverse populations and address environmental issues in innovative ways. The study explores various e-learning strategies, such as interactive modules, online discussions, and virtual field trips, that aim to increase environmental awareness and inspire sustainable behaviors among students. The paper examines the benefits of online learning, including flexibility, accessibility, and the ability to integrate multimedia resources to engage students in environmental topics. Additionally, it highlights how e-learning can encourage active participation in sustainability initiatives through project-based learning and collaboration with environmental organizations. The paper also addresses the challenges of maintaining student engagement and effectively assessing the impact of online learning on sustainability knowledge and behaviors. Finally, it offers recommendations for educators and policymakers to enhance the effectiveness of online learning in environmental education, ensuring that it not only raises awareness but also motivates students to take real-world actions for sustainability.
